Lisa Yuskavage has to be one of my FAVORITE painters. I know, I know I say that about a lot of artists but she's gotta be in the top 3 faves.

I went to see her show in Chelsea this weekend at the David Zwerner gallery and.... AMAZING! Some of the paintings just seem to glow from across the room!!

Also it was inspiring to learn that Lisa took a year off of painting early in her career because she felt like she was always painting to please proffessors, art critics or galleries but then returned to painting with a new found confidence by painting images that she really related to.  I don't know, I always like hearing about people who walk to the beat of their own drums and end up leading the parade! So inspriring!

Anyways LOVE LOVE LOVE her work! Precious moments meet vintage Playboy!

I was reading one of my favorite blogs Refinery29 and came across  this gem of site by Christopher Lam called Supreme Freak. I am OBSESSED! Here are a few of my favorites. I especially like the ones with stuffed animals! Christopher, thanks for making this site!! I also really like the song that was playing on his site, it's a remix of "Pain it Black." LOVE!
